M I N U T E S

 

 

The Board of School Trustees of the Vigo County School Corporation held a 1028 Public Hearing at the Vigo County School Corporation Administration Building, 686 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana on October 8, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.

 

The following Board Members were present:  Dr. Joseph Minnis, Mr. Paul Lockhart,

Ms. Alpa Patel, Mr. Mel Burks, Mr. Gene Shike, Mrs. Jackie Lower, and Mr. Guille Cox.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Mr. Guille Cox led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Review of Project and Funding

 

Mrs. Wilson presented a review of the proposed additions, improvements, and renovations at West Vigo Middle School.  She noted that the renovation would include the gymnasium with an additional parking lot.  Mrs. Wilson stated that the estimated total construction cost of the project is $2,900,000.00 and would have no affect on the Vigo County tax rate.

 

Public Hearing – Comments and Questions

 

Comments in favor of the proposed additions and renovations at West Vigo Middle School were received from Mr. Tim Vislosky and Mrs. Donna Neidlinger.

 

Consideration of Proposed Resolution

 

Mrs. Wilson responded to questions from Board Members and Mrs. Lower suggested it would be helpful to have dimensions added to the next set of blue print pictures.

 

Dr. Minnis moved for approval of the proposed additions, improvements and renovations resolution.  Mr. Lockhart seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
