A regular meeting of the Board of School Trustees of the Vigo County School Corporation was held at the Vigo County School Corporation Administration Building, 686 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana on the 11th day of September 2006 at 7:15 P.M.

 

The following Board Members were present:  Mr. Guille Cox, Dr. Joseph Minnis, Mr. Paul Lockhart, Mr. Michael Tom, Mr. Mel Burks, Mr. Gene Shike, and Mrs. Jackie Lower.

 

Spotlight

 

Mr. Doug Dillion, technology teacher at Honey Creek Middle School, was honored for being selected as one of forty-four Disney Teacher Award Winners in the United States.

Mr. Tanoos presented a brief overview of meetings and events that have taken place during the past two weeks.

No comments were received.

 

Consent Agenda

 

Mr. Cox moved for approval of the Consent Agenda.  Mr. Burks seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

The following Consent Agenda items were approved:

            2.            Minutes – Regular Meeting – August 28, 3006

Policy IIBG Revisions (Third Reading)

 

Mr. Burks moved for approval of Policy IIBG revisions.  Mr. Lockhart seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

Personnel Report

 

Mr. Tanoos presented the Personnel Report.

 

Mr. Burks moved for approval.  Mr. Lockhart seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

Title I Grant

 

Mr. Tanoos presented the Title I Grant, part D, Subpart 2, SY 06-07 and Title I Grant Project #07-8030 for approval.

 

Mr. Burks moved for approval.  Dr. Minnis seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

Use of Facility for Shoe Bus Project

 

Mr. Tanoos requested permission for the continued use of the former Maple Avenue school building for the Terre Haute Women’s Club Shoe Bus Project.

 

Mr. Cox moved for approval.  Mrs. Lower seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.
